The steering committee is EUSA_ID's decision making body in which all partners are equally represented. As a rule, decision making should be by consensus. It reviews implementation plans, progress reports, planning and overall monitoring of project resources. Steering committee meetings take place once a year as face-to-face meetings or video conferences.

Management Committee
The management committee consists of the EUSA_ID coordinator, the Institute of Development Research and Development Policy of Ruhr-University Bochum (RUB), Germany and the co-coordinator, the Institute for Social Development at the University of the Western Cape (UWC), South Africa and is responsible for day to day management of EUSA_ID.

Selection Committee
The selection committee is responsible for suggesting the final selection of EUSA_ID grantees which has to be based on the pre-ranking of candidates by the potential hosting institutions. Members of the selection committee are the EUSA_ID coordinator and co-coordinator plus three elected additional members. During the kick-off meeting in Bordeaux in 2013 the following individuals have been elected as members of the selection committee:

The committee consists of three members, one South African, one European and one co-opted member; members of this committee will be selected on a case by case base, depending on who appeals; those concerned by an appeal will not be involved.
